The floating solar photovoltaic project on Lake Kossou in central Côte d’Ivoire was first announced by Thierry Tanoh, Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Renewables in 2018. With financing of €80m ($88m) from France’s development agency (Agence française de développement -AFD), it will be operated by CI-Energies, the national power utility, headed by CEO Amidou Traoré
