Owner of Sheraton hotels in Addis-Ababa and Kampala through his Near East Financial Corporation (NEFC), Ethiopian-born Saudi billionaire Mohamed Hussein Al Amoudi (fortune of $8.1 billion in 2017 according to Forbes) sent his cousin, Mohammed Omar Al Amoudi, on a mission from 22 to 24 October to Djibouti, where he also owns a hotel, Jeune Afrique Business+ has learned. The upscale U.S. hospitality chain forms part of the Marriott portfolio since the latter’s takeover of Starwood in 2016.
