La Mamounia of Marrakech will not change hands and will not be privatized. The hotel as well as other luxury establishments have been transferred to a new national hotel industry pole.

Due to be privatised in 2019, La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakech will finally remain in the hands of the State but will no longer be included in the assets of the national railway operator, ONCF, with effect from 1 January.
