Lesley Ndlovu will take up his new position at African Risk Capacity Insurance Co Ltd in Johannesburg on 1 March. ARC Insurance Co Ltd is a subsidiary of the African Risk Capacity (ARC), which was created by the African Union in 2012 to help cover African states suffering from natural disasters, such as floods and other catastrophes. ARC spends several tens of millions of dollars every year just to cover droughts in Africa, which account for around a third of its operations. Its board of directors includes Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s former Finance Minister.
