“We hope to start operating in 2021 if the administrative formalities prove to be successful”, Arlette Tchapoya, CEO of Africa Waste Energy, told Jeune Afrique Business+. The company is promoting a project to produce electricity using biogas from the Nkolfoulou landfill, located 12 kilometres away from Yaoundé and managed by Hygiène et salubrité du Cameroun (Hysacam), headed by Michel Ngapanoun.
