SEMAFO has been one of Endeavour Mining’s targets for a long time: “Endeavour has had its eye on it for a while”, an informed source explained. The transaction does not fundamentally change the game for Endeavour, but it will enable the company to consolidate its assets in Burkina Faso, even if by that same token it will increase its exposure to the country – and therefore its risk – our source added.
