Renault/Morocco: Why the announced resumption of operations caught the Africa regional division off guard

Renault Morocco’s announcement on 18 April that the Tanger Med and Casablanca plants are getting ready to gradually resume operations at their facilities caught the French automaker’s Africa, Middle East, India and Pacific (AMIP) regional division, located in Dubai and headed by Fabrice Cambolive, off guard.

Although the Moroccan subsidiary, led by Marc Nassif, reached an agreement with local unions on the health rules and supplies required for workers to be able to return to work in the appropriate conditions, it still is not possible to announce a specific timeline for the manufacturing reboot.
