The Franco-Lebanese businessman and co-owner of Kiev-based media group Supernova put Malagasy businessman Ylias Akbaraly in touch with Euronews last year in order for the latter to sell its Congo-based Africanews subsidiary to Akbaraly under a binding agreement. However, the head of the Malagasy Sipromad group did not make the full payment following Congo’s intervention in the transaction, ultimately rendering the deal null and void. With the help of his business and commercial lawyer, Caroline Wassermann, Omar Harfouch is considering the various options available to recover the fees he deems he is entitled to.
