After launching a packaging company in West Africa at the beginning of the year, the Moroccan subsidiary of Asia’s Wilmar group is on the verge of competing with Saudi Arabia’s existing sugar production monopoly.

Following successful commissioning tests, Durrah Advanced Development, the entity which operates Durrah Sugar Refinery in Saudi Arabia, is getting ready to commence commercial operations at the refinery, whose production capacity is expected to hover around 850,000 tonnes of white sugar per year.
