Although the Covid-19 epidemic and anti-import measures have led to a gloomy economic situation for automotive distribution in Algeria, Cevital hopes to restart its activities in what was one of its favourite sectors until 2016.

That year, when Issad Rebrab, the group’s founder, clashed with the political powers-that-be, Cevital lost several key relationships, including its contracts with Hyundai, which were taken over by Cima Motors for cars, and by Global Motors Industries (GMI) for lorries and buses.
