“We want to distinguish ourselves from players who settle for aggregating and distributing catalogues, as we’re looking first and foremost to grow the local market,” Olivier Nusse, chief executive at Universal Music France, told Jeune Afrique Business+. In May, the firm signed a partnership agreement with The Aristokrat Group, a Nigerian label, to strengthen its presence in Africa.
