From the end of the month, Tunisia will import Algerian phosphate for the very first time. This is an admission of failure for Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT), the state-owned company with a monopoly on the production of the mineral, which is unable to fulfil its orders with farming customers and multinationals.
