The Banque Internationale pour l’Industrie et le Commerce (BIIC) intends to support industry and trade far beyond Benin. The new institution wants to link all UEMOA countries by creating several subsidiaries by the end of 2021. The target countries are Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, but also Togo, Niger and Burkina Faso. “Our ultimate goal is to expand into Central Africa,” Didier Ayibatin, BIIC’s Managing Director, told Jeune Afrique Business+.
