Barring any new unforeseen circumstances, United Mining Supply (UMS) International is on track to take over the Alteo refinery in Gardanne in southern France following the withdrawal of the other remaining proposal. The now withdrawn bid was submitted by Xavier Perrier, a former director at the plant, who had partnered with businessman Alain de Krassny.
