Canal + Africa head David Mignot targets one million subscribers in Ethiopia with $100 million investment

The Canal + group launched on April 12 in Ethiopia a satellite television package. Entering this market of around 110 million inhabitants is the culmination of a project spanning more than three years for the Vivendi subsidiary, which received its license in June 2019.

Convinced of the country’s potential, Canal + aims to win over a million subscribers. At the end of 2020, Canal + Africa head David Mignot claimed nearly six million on the continent. To achieve this, he released an investment package of around $100 million.
