Launched in 2018, jointly by Tidjane Dème and Cyril Collon within the VC Partech, the Partech Africa fund has operations in Paris, Dakar and Nairobi. Since its creation, it has conducted several deals, mainly in the English-speaking world, in young tech companies in the development phase, such as Tugende (Uganda), MoneyFellows (Egypt), Gebeya (Ethiopia), Kudi (Nigeria) and Yoco (South Africa). In May 2021, Partech Africa was the lead investor with others, including Sawari and Sango, on a $6.5 million round of financing in the Egyptian edtech Al Mentor.
