IBL’s team to support expansion on the African continent

To support its internationalisation strategy, the diversified Mauritian group, led by Arnaud Lagesse (CEO), is using East Africa as its springboard. Its latest foray is a majority stake alongside STOA in Equator Energy, which operates one of the largest solar C&I portfolios in the region, mainly in Kenya and Uganda.

To implement this strategy, IBL Group will count on Jorsen TM Patten, appointed in January as COO for East Africa and based in the Kenyan capital. This was a logical appointment as he was previously IBL’s East Africa development director and was based in Nairobi for five years. The former marketing manager and country manager of the Coca-Cola Company in Kenya and Mozambique and British American Tobacco in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Côte d’Ivoire is a London School of Economics graduate and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
